Ushering at UT Austin Football Games

DRESS CODE

  1. Khaki/tan shorts or pants. No "cargo" shorts. UT provides the usher shirt at the game. There are no lockers to store your shirt you are wearing to the game. You can wear their shirt over yours.
  2. Wear tennis shoes (NO sandals or open toed shoes) as you will be standing for long periods of time.
  3. Hats must be UT or Nike-related. No umbrellas allowed in the stadium, even if it is raining - bring a poncho.
  4. NO backpacks. DO NOT USE MOBILE PHONES WHILE WORKING!!! If it is HOT, bring sunscreen. If you bring water, it has to be Dasani. Cold Weather: dress in layers.
  5. Usher shirt needs to be visible at all times.

CHECK-IN

  1. Gate 8 on the Northwest side of the stadium, under the stands. Look for the sign that reads EXTRA HELP GROUPS.
  2. Check-in is 3.5 hours before game time (4.5 hours early for the first game). Those that are late will be turned away. Be early.
  3. There is no parking close to the stadium. Allow at least 20 minutes to walk to the stadium.
  4. If you do not sign in or out, you will not get paid. Volunteers need to check in and check out for themselves.
  5. You must work the entire shift (8.5 hours). No one can switch out for you during the game.

GAMES
We will not know the start time of the games until 10 - 12 days before.

FOOD
You will get $8 food vouchers to use at the concession stands.

PAY
Westwood Lacrosse will receive $7/hour per person worked. 50% can be applied to your player's dues or toward your fundraising responsibilities. If you or your player brings guests, 50% of what they earn 50% can be applied to your player's dues or toward your fundraising responsibilities and the other 50% will go to the Club.

AGE
MUST be 16 years old and responsible to work.

FOOTBALL FIELD
No one is allowed on the football field at anytime.

VIOLATIONS
You will lose your opportunity to usher indefinitely if any rules are violated.
