Shooting Shirts and Practice Shorts

Shooting shirts and practice shorts will be distributed to players after practice Tuesday, January 19. Cindy Smith will distribute to JV players and Teri Holmstrom will distribute to Varsity players. Cindy will be in a hunter green Chrysler Town & Country van and Teri will be in a black Lexus suv. If your son is not going to be at Tuesday's practice, please contact Cindy at wordsmithcgs@sbcglobal.net or Teri at mholmstrom@austin.rr.com to make arrangements to get these items.

Our Varsity and JV teams will both be particpating in out of town tournaments during the 2nd weekend of February (Feb 13th and 14th). Our Vasity team is headed to Dallas to participate in the Dallas Jesuit tournament while our JV team will be going to College Station for the annual Aggieland Lacrosse touranment. Each family should receive an email during the last week of December with a link to our travel survey that must be completed by Monday, January 5th. If you do not receive the email, please select the appropriate link below to access the player particiaption survey.

D1 will play Cedar Park at 4:30 on Sunday, April 26, at Westlake Chaps Stadium at Westlake High School. We are the Home team and will wear WHITE uniforms. Players should arrive at the field by 3:00. BRING NOISE MAKERS!! GO WARRIORS!!

2009 - 2010 Physicals

RRISD requires that a valid Athletic Physical be on fie each year for all athletes participating in sports. This year, RRISD will be offering Physicals for the 2009 - 2010 school year on May 16, 2009 at McNeil High School. Physicals for Westwood High School students will be from11:45 - 1:00 p.m. The cost of the Physical is $ 20.00. All proceeds will go back to the districts athletic triaining programs. There will be an optional heart scan available at an additional fee. Additional information will be communicated as it becomes available.
D1 St. Andrews Game

D1 will have a bus for the game on Thursday, April 9, at St. Andrews. Players need to be at the WW Field House by 5:00. The bus leaves at 5:15 p.m. There will not be any transportation back to Westwood.

Parents of D1 & D2 Lacrosse Players- The information posted below was emailed to each parent earlier this week.
The D1 & D2 teams will be playing in Dallas on March 28th and 29th. Coaches expect all D1 & D2 eligible players to participate. Contact your team's coach directly if you have any questions. During our next Board meeting, we will decide if our club will provide bus transportation for this trip or if we will coordinate car pooling for player transportation. Regardless of our decision to rent a bus or car pool, we plan to depart Austin early Saturday morning and will be returning to Austin no later than 7 pm on Sunday. An additional survey will be sent out closer to the trip date regarding transportation, meals, and the hospitality tent. Each team will play one game on Saturday afternoon or early Saturday evening and another game on Sunday (D2 at Noon and D1 at 2pm)

Stolen Lax Equipment

Michael McElreath had his car stolen today from the Westwood area. In it were his WW equipment bag, as well as two other players' equipment bags. The police told Janet McElreath that the car may be recovered, but anything inside of it is probably gone for good.

Saturday morning, D1 players should wear their white uniform and have their orange uniform in their bags. Be on the field no later than 11:45 am.Directions to the field from hotel, head south on Noel Rd (cross Southern Blvd and Alpha Rd). Turn right on feeder at I-635 (LBJ Frwy). Turn left at Inwood Rd. Stay in right lane on Inwood for a half mile. Jesuit School will be on right, 12345 Inwood Rd.

If you are interested in caravaning to Dallas for the Dallas Jesuit tournament, please plan on meeting at Chisholm Trail at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20, AND let Cindy Pierce know. Otherwise, we'll see everyone in Dallas!
Carpool assignments have been emailed to all players and drivers. If your son needs a ride and you haven't been contacted, contact Cindy Pierce.
Players will receive room asssignments at the hotel upon check-in. Complimentary breakfast is served each day from 7:00 - 10:30 a.m. Players will need money for dinner each night as well as for the ride home on Sunday. The hospitality tent will have deli meat, snacks and drinks for the players during the day on Saturday and Sunday.
Parents, don't forget to bring your chairs. The game schedule was also included in the email and will be distributed in Dallas.

Our D1 Team won their first regular season game 12-3 against McCallum last night at the Warrior Bowl. Following the game, our club was contacted by West Side Lacrosse for game details for their website which is dedicated to providing lacrosse news for teams west of the Mississippi. We are pleased to announce we now have volunteers to be our Team Parent Coordinators for all three teams. Our Team Parent Coordinators will normally be your initial contact for any questions,concerns or suggestions you have regarding the team. They will also be working with our Game Day/Field Prep Volunteer Coordinators, Game Day Administrators, Travel Coordinator and coaches to insure information is communicated to you in a timely manner. We have listed the names of our Team Parent Coordinators for each team. Please do not hesitate to contact them with any questions or suggestions.

D1 Parents who have completed the player participation survey for the upcoming Dallas trip and requested to be billed $90 for their son's hotel room, please select the CLICK HERE button below to submit your payment. Deadline for player room payment is Feburary 7th. If you reserved a spot in one of our player rooms for your son and you are not paying for your son's room via Paypal, please mail your $90 payment to our club's PO Box. Parent or family rooms must be reserved directly with the hotel. See Tournament announcement in BLOG below dated 1-18-2009 for complete details or to access and complete the player registration for the Dallas Trip . D1 parents will receive an email this week with details about the tournament.
