The NCAA Stick Head waiver was modified, allowing teams to claim the waiver for the 2010 season.  However, if a team claims the waiver, then it must become a DIII team and compete at the DIII level.  Since Westwood does not compete at the DIII level, players at Westwood will need a 2010 NCAA head to be compliant.

Please visit South Swell Sports to see the available heads and talk to a sales rep for more detailed information, but do not buy a head at that time or you will not receive the team discount. 

Head order forms were distributed at the Parent Meeting in September and an attachment was sent in an email on Monday, September 28.  If you still need a head order form, please send Teri Holmstrom an email at mholmstrom@austin.rr.com and she will send you an order form via email. 

Please write your players name and your email on the order form before mailing to the Club's address.  All checks sholud be written to Westwood Lacrosse.  The ordering deadline for heads has been extended to October 6 to give everyone time to visit South Swell this week.

Player registration is now open for the 2009-2010 season.  Please click on the Registration tab above and complete the survey before September 15th.  ALL players need to register, whether you are new to the team or not.  Player packets, with all forms that need to be turned in at the September 9th meeting, are available at the following board members' homes:

Tournament Waivers Required

Waivers are required for the D1 Dallas Jesuit Tournament and the D2 -JV Aggieland Tournament.  The waivers were sent as part of the weekly email update on 1/25.  If you have problems printing the waivers, email Teri Holmstrom at mholmstrom@austin.rr.com . 

D2 & JV Aggieland Hotel Room Payments

Parents who have completed the player participation survey for the Aggieland Tournament and requested to be billed $40 for their son's hotel room, please select the CLICK HERE button below to submit your payment.  Deadline for player room payment is Feburary 7th.  It you reserved a spot in one of our player rooms for your son and you are not paying for your son's room via Paypal, please mail your $40 payment to our club's PO Box.   Parent or family rooms must be reserved directly with the hotel.  See Tournament announcement in BLOG below dated 1-18-2009 for complete details or to access and complete the player registration for the Aggieland Tournament.  CLICK HERE to pay your son's $40 fee via credit card if you requested him to be assigned to one of our player rooms at Aggieland.  If you do not have a PAYPAL account, you can still pay via credit card. 

D1 Dallas Jesuit Tourney Feb 20 - 22

Our D1 Westwood Lax team is participating in the Annual Dallas Jesuit Tournament scheduled for February 20-22 in Dallas, Texas.  D1 parents will receive an email this week with details about the tournament.  Parents of D1 players can also CLICK HERE  to review details about the tournament and to complete the required player registration survey.  The deadline for player registration is Friday, January 23rd.   Please email questions to mmorenz@austin.rr.com or atasset@sbcglobal.net

2009 Lacrosse Program Information

Placing an ad in the 2009 lacrosse program is a great way to support your son and the Westwood lacrosse team.  The process is easy.  Simply take the form out of Pocket # 2 of the orange folder you received at the beginning of the season, complete it, and mail it along with your payment to the address on the form.  If you'd like to include a picture, digital photos can be emailed to Joan at  joan@joansspeak.com .

If you enjoy graphic design, you can create your own camera-ready ad and send it to Joan at the above email address.  Still, mail the form and paperwork to the Club.  If you would prefer us to put the ad together for you, fill out the form, email the picture or mail the hard-copy picture with the form if you are unable to scan.  It's that simple.

This is also a great way to advertise your small business.  The process is the same and the business advantage is time-tested.

Don't delay -- the deadline is THIS SATURDAY, January 17!!!!

Parents- Please remember this year our player dues include the annual fee for US Lacrosse membership for your son.  If you receive a renewal notice, please do not renew your son's membership for this year.   Our club will pay the US Lacrosse membership fee this year  for all Westwood lacrosse players from dues you have paid.  If you have questions, please email Teri Holmstrom at mholmstrom@austin.rr.com

Helmet Order Deadline Extended

The deadline for ordering a new Cascade Pro 7 helmet was originally Tuesday evening,  The NEW deadline for ordering a helmet at the discounted  price of $150 is midnight Thursday, September 11.  CLICK HERE  to visit our merchandise website and purchase a helmet via credit card.

Player Packets Available NOW

As a reminder, we encourage all returning players and new players to pick up a player packet prior to our September 9th meeting. Although player packets will be available at our first Team Meeting, we hope you will consider picking up your packet in advance so you can submit your completed forms when you come to the team meeting. Parents who attended the new player orientation should have already received your packets. The Team's information packets are available NOW on the front doorsteps of selected Board members listed below:
