6th Annual Westwood Youth Lacrosse Clinic, 3/27 8:30am-11:30am

Our 6th Annual Westwood Lacrosse Youth Clinic is tomorrow, March 27th at Canyon Vista MS from 8:30am-11:30am with check-in starting at 7:45am.  Registration cost is $65 the day of the clinic and includes a t-shirt and lunch.  It is open to boys in grades 1st-8th who will be coached by current Westwood lacrosse players and coaches.  Clinic attendees will be eligible to participate in a shooting contest with prizes sponsored by South Swell Sports.   Parents must sign their player(s) out by 12:00pm.

All Westwood players are to be at CVMS at 8:00am, and are included in the hot dog lunch immediately following the clinic.  Varsity plays Plano at 1:30pm at CMVS.

Westwood JV Tune-up Tournament - Saturday, 1/16

We're looking forward to our first Westwood JV Tune-up Tournament this Saturday, January 16th at SW Williamson County Regional Park (FM 1431 and CR 175).  We have 8 teams total in the tournament and look forward to some great competition.

Holiday Party - Dinner Tickets

If you have not purchased dinner tickets for the Holiday Party, you have until 10:00pm tonight to do so by contacting Stacy Adams at 257-0270 or alanandstacyadams@austin.rr.com.  You will be able to pay for your dinners at the door tomorrow night, $12.50 per plate.  A ticket is not required if you do not plan to join us for dinner.  We encourage you to attend the party though, bid on the wonderful gift baskets and desserts, and socialize with other parents and players.

All players are encouraged to attend and participate in the always popular, white elephant gift exchange (don't forget a new, $5-$10 gift!), and spend some time with your teammates and coaches.

Our annual Westwood Warriors Holiday Party at Westwood High School is on Friday, December 11th at 6:30pm.  There's going to be plenty of food and fun, with a white elephant gift exchange for the team, a dessert auction, gift baskets, general meeting, and a pep talk from Coach Pailes.  Please check the website and e-mail for more information to be sent out soon.

WW Lacrosse will have a meeting for new and freshman players and their parents on Sunday, August 30th at 7:00pm at Main Event (13301 N. A big round of applause goes to Cindy Pierce, Tandy Lodge and their elves, Patty, Janet, Theresa, Barbara, Debbie, Susan, Sylvia, Linda and Teri,  who all helped with the Holiday Party.   The food choices by  PF Changs were delicious.  A big THANK YOU goes out to everyone who contributed to the auction baskets and baked goods.  Our auctioneer, Bruno Ierullo, once again did a fabulous job in promoting the items.  The auction brought in over $1600.00 more than doubling last years'  fundraiser.

Thanks to all the parents who made the hospitality tent a success.  The hospitality tent is completely funded by the generous donations of parents.  It allows all coaches, players and their parents a place to gather between games and grab a drink or snack.   After teams are announced in January, I will be needing a Hospitality Coordinator for each team.    If you are interested in this position, please contact  Andi Tasset @ atasset@sbcglobal.net  to get further information.  Thank you again for donating coolers, tents, snacks, drinks and ice.

Having cold drinks,  snacks and a place to congregate between games is appreciated by the players.  I've put together a list of items we need for our tent.  If it sounds like a lot, remember we have 70 boys participating in the tournament.  Please contact me  #947-9039 or atasset@sbcglobal.net  if you would like to help out.  The hospitality tent  benefits all players, coaches  and parents.

Water.....5-7 cases of small bottles (1 case is approx 35 bottles)

Gatorades ........10-12 packs  (Smallest size, various flavors)

Power bars/granola bars...... 6-10 boxes

Beef jerky/Slim Jims........6 boxes

Cookies .......6 (1 doz each)

Variety of snack size chips ...........5  (comes in bags or boxes

I will need help putting up 3 tents and getting the snacks outs & drinks iced as well as taking down.  Come join us.

You'd better not pout, you'd better not cry,    I'm telling you why...............WWLAX Holiday Party is coming to town.   Save the date:  Friday, December 12th  @ 6:00 in the WWHS Dining Rooms.    The event is being catered by PF Chang's  and will begin serving @ 6:30.   Tickets will be available for purchase on Monday,  November 24th and  the cost will be $14.00 a plate.   If you signed up to help with this event,  Cindy Pierce or Tandy Lodge will be contacting you.

Used Lacrosse Equipmnet

Saturday, November 1 from 11 am to Noon at the Carwash 

We have received numerous requests from parents interested in purchasing used lacrosse equipment.  In response to these requests we are encouraging parents-players who have used equipment that they would like to sell to bring their gear to our car wash between 11 am and Noon on Saturday, November 1.    We will designate an area on the sidewalk or in the parking lot near our car wash for parents-players selling equipment.  Each parent-player selling equipment is encouraged to bring a small chair or table to display your gear for sale.  Each family selling equipment is responsbile for selling your own gear.  If you have equipment to sell, please plan on displaying your gear starting at 11 am and staying until Noon or until you sell your stuff.   If you are looking for used lacrosse equipment, come visit our carwash between 11 and noon on Saturday, November 1.
